Lawmakers honor Sun Prairie firefighter Cory Barr and family

MADISON (WKOW) — State legislators honored a Sun Prairie firefighter killed in a devastating explosion nearly one year ago on Thursday.

The Wisconsin Assembly unanimously voted to approved a joint resolution commemorating Firefighter Cory Barr, the Sun Prairie Police Department, Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department, and emergency medical services on the anniversary of the gas line explosion in downtown Sun Prairie which killed Cory.

Abby Barr, Cory’s wife, also attended the event honoring her husband’s actions and those of other first responders.

Lawmakers gave a standing ovation in honor of Cory.
