Madison man arrested in connection with Evansville car theft

MADISON (WKOW) — Police on Wednesday arrested a Madison man in connection with an auto theft a day earlier in Evansville.

Elhadji A. Ndiaye, 22, faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property, according to a news release from the Evansville Police Department.

Evansville police say they were called to a traffic incident about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and learned the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Police say the car was stolen from a home on W. Main Street and that the home also had been burglarized.

The stolen car had been spray painted and left Evansville before police arrived.

Madison police found the car Wednesday and arrested Ndiaye. Several items from the burglarized Evansville home also were recovered, police say.
