Man arrested for attempting to enter cars in Madison store parking lot

MADISON (WKOW) — A man was arrested Saturday evening in a Farm and Fleet parking lot for attempting to enter vehicles.

Madison Police Chief Mike Koval says officers went out to the parking lot on South Stoughton Road, around 6 o’clock, for a 30-year-old man who was attempting to enter vehicles.

The man told police he was looking for his 32-year-old girlfriend, who was waiting in one of the cars in the parking lot.

According to Koval, the two admitted to being on methadone.

Police say a K9 officer searched their car and found implements for using heroin, inside.

Madison Fire and EMS treated the women before they released her from the scene, referring her to an addiction recovery program.

The man was arrested for a separate warrant and is also facing charges for criminal damage to property, which happened while trying to enter the cars.
