MADISON (WKOW ) — Clean energy advocates came together Friday to support the construction of the Cardinal-Hickory Creek transmission line project.

Amelia Vohs from the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy says, “We have taken the time to investigate this project deeply at the record that’s been developed around it and all of us are crystal clear that this project is an incredible benefit to the environment. It’s not only an incredible benefit to the environment, it’s also the only way that we are going to achieve a clean energy future.”

27 News reached out to opponents of the line and they say they’re worried it will destroy the surrounding environment.

They do not believe the project will help lower utility costs for electricity users.
