FITCHBURG (WKOW) —  The Fitchburg Police Department is ramping up its investigation into a teenager’s murder.

17-year-old Shay Watson was shot and killed in his Lyman Lane home Aug. 25.

A multi-jurisdictional team of investigators has been actively pursuing leads and tips resulting from available evidence and information shared by community members, but no arrests have been made. Police do not believe the homicide was a random act.

Fitchburg investigators say they believe there are people in the community who have important information regarding the case. Madison Area Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges for suspects in this case.

The family of Shay Watson has created a fund to reward information that leads to the arrest and filing of criminal charges for suspects in this case. Police say they believe the fund has a total amount of approximately $3,500.
