MADISON (WKOW) — Madison community leaders got to see what it’s like to be in the shoes of a school principal.
The Madison Metropolitan School District hosted civic leaders, including Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. They each shadowed a principal from one of the 50 schools in the district. It was a chance for them to interact with school staff and meet students.
“We have representatives from corporate Madison but we also have pastors from local faith communities,” said Melinda Heinritz, Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools. “We have non-profit organization heads so really all walks of life and we are very intentional in wanting to bring in a community of principal partners into our schools.”
Participants in “A Principal Experience” then got together for a luncheon to talk about what they learned.
