MADISON (WKOW) — Dane County officials are committing nearly one million dollars to repair the Pheasant Branch Conservancy after historic flooding in 2018 caused major damage to the popular nature area in Middleton.

County Executive Joe Parisi announced that $500,000 from the Park and Trail Repair grant program will go towards supporting conservancy repairs.

That is on top of the $400,000 Parisi included in his 2020 county budget.

Pheasant Branch is one of six locations in Dane County that would revieve grants.

The County Board will vote on the grant recommendations by the end of November.
