‘I want to go back:’ Fired Madison West staff member on Tamron Hall show today at 2 p.m.

MADISON (WKOW) — Marlon Anderson, the Madison West High School security staff member fired after a student called him the n-word and he told the student not to, repeating the word back, will appear today on the syndicated Tamron Hall show.

The show airs Monday at 2 p.m. on WKOW-TV.

Anderson told Hall that he wants to go back to his job, noting the support he received from students in the school that led to a walkout Friday in support of Anderson.

“The students went to bat for me in such an amazing way, I feel like I’m obligated to go back,” Anderson told Hall on the show.

The segment where Hall talks to Anderson is about 10 minutes into the show.

The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County has hired him as the director of program operations.

The position is temporary during Anderson’s appears process at the district.

School Board President Gloria Reyes said she would move forward with the appeals process Monday.

Since Anderson’s firing, a massive protest was held Friday and calls for change have been ongoing.
