WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) — The victim of the domestic-related death Thursday in the Wisconsin Dells has been identified as 23-year-old Tetiana Huzhva, according to a police department news release.
The suspect, who was arrested in connection with her death, has been identified as 31-year-old Fuad Pashayev.
In January, Pashayev was charged with eleven, domestic violence-related crimes in connection to actions against Huzhva, including allegedly throwing hot water in her face. A criminal complaint states Huzhva ran from her Washington Avenue home to the nearby Wisconsin Dells Police Department, telling police personnel “…She fears Mr. Pashayev is going to kill her.” Online court records show Pashayev was ordered to have no contac with Huzhva, their child, and their home.
Pashayev is currently incarcerated in the Columbia County Jail awaiting formal charges from the Columbia County District Attorney’s office in connection with Huzhva’s death.
Wisconsin Dells 911 Dispatch center received a call about 4:30 p.m. April 4 from a dispatch center out of state that prompted the Wisconsin Dells Police Department to conduct a welfare check on the woman.
Huzhva was located in the residence, according to police. No one else was in the residence at the time of police entry.
As a search for a suspect began, Pashayev returned to the home after searching police officers called him and convinced him to return, where he was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
Police Chief Jody Ward says Huzhva is from the Ukraine.
