Madison man beaten, dragged out of home by four suspects

MADISON (WKOW) — Police say a 58-year-old man was beaten and dragged out of his home after a confrontation with four suspects Friday evening.

According to a police report, the victim reported a confrontation at his home on Verona Ave. around 5 p.m., in which three men and one woman accused him of stealing items.

The suspects reportedly left the residence, but returned later.

Officials say upon their return the suspects beat the man and dragged him outside to a rear parking lot.

According to a witness, the male suspects fled in their vehicles and the female suspect ran away.

Authorities say the victim sustained multiple contusions to his head, face, and other parts of his body as well as road rash.

Probable cause was developed to charge all suspects with substantial battery, attempted kidnapping, burglary and criminal damage to property, according to an incident report.

Police say this investigation is ongoing.
