SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) — A Camp Douglas man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash Jan. 8, 2018 that killed a Reedsburg woman.
Mark S. Josett was arrested Thursday, April 29, and faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and homicide by operation of a vehicle while having a detectable amount of a restricted controlled substance.
The crash in 2018 in the town of LaValle killed Makenzee Carpenter,18, of Reedsburg.
At the time, there were differing accounts of how the crash took place, some of which did not appear to be consistent with the evidence at the scene and on the surviving passengers, according to a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Continued investigation, along with laboratory testing continued through the following year, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators now believe that Josett, 37 years old at the time, of Camp Douglas, a survivor of the crash, was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash and that he was under the influence of THC and Methamphetamine.
Josett was brought to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, interviewed and later booked into the Sauk County jail.
