MADISON (WKOW) — Two people charged in the murder of a Dane man pleaded guilty Thursday to several charges in Dane County Circuit Court.

Jacob Johnson, of Sun Prairie, pleaded guilty to felony murder as a party to a crime, and Drew Luber, of Deforest, pleaded guilty to both disorderly conduct and felony murder.

The two are accused of murdering 24-year-old Dalton Ziegler. Prosecutors allege Ziegler’s girlfriend, McKayla Tracy of Lodi, enlisted Johnson and Luber to confront Ziegler over alleged cheating.

The guilty pleas for both men were entered with minutes of each other as part of separate plea agreements.

In exchange for his plea, Johnson would have an additional charge, theft, dropped and the state would not ask to revoke bail.

The state agreed to dismiss charges of bail jumping and other misdemeanors in exchange for Luber’s pleas.

Sentencing for Johnson was scheduled for Aug. 6, and Luber will be sentenced Aug. 12.
