MADISON (WKOW) — University of Wisconsin-Madison police arrested a Madison man Monday for robbery and resisting arrest after he allegedly stole cash from a Memorial Union employee.

Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, police said, a man stole cash from a Memorial Union employee who was taking the money to “a secure location in the building.”

Officers spotted 23-year-old Delmont L. Moore on State Street Monday afternoon before he allegedly ran, according to a UW-Police incident report.

Police said they caught up to Moore and took him into custody on tentative felony charges of robbery and resisting arrest – causing injury, as well as a probation hold.

Three UWPD officers were injured while trying to take Moore into custody, police said. All three were treated and returned to duty.

Police said security cameras helped detectives identify Moore.
