MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man officers believe was involved in a Tuesday morning shooting.

Police believe the man photographed to be one of two involved in an “armed home invasion and attempted homicide where the victim was shot in the head, but not seriously injured,” according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Police were sent to a Madison hospital after a 42-year-old man showed up with a grazing gunshot wound to his head around 6 a.m., police said.

The man told police he was shot inside his McKenna Boulevard home around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.

“Detectives are investigating, but do not believe there is a general danger to the community,” police said, calling the shooting “a targeted act of gun violence.”

Police ask anyone with information on this case to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.
