Jessica Porter

Jessica Porter is co-anchor for Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend. She also reports for Wake Up Wisconsin during the week. She joined the 27 News team in July 2018. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Porter is thrilled to be a part of the Madison and Southern Wisconsin community.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!) with a degree in journalism and minors in Spanish and sociology.

Before moving to Madison, she was a reporter, producer and anchor for KOMU 8 News, mid-Missouri’s NBC affiliate station.

She had the chance to tell all kinds of stories from the resignation of the Missouri governor to severe weather. Prior to working at KOMU, she spent four summers as an Emma Bowen Foundation fellow at NBC 5 Chicago.

While at NBC 5, she worked two summers in the community relations department, one at the assignment desk and another with the consumer investigative unit.

When she’s not telling stories, you can find her exploring Madison and its surrounding areas, practicing yoga, eating at a good restaurant or doing one of her favorite activities, shopping. If you see her around, be sure to say hi!

Have a story idea for her or want to send a restaurant recommendation? Feel free to send her an email at jporter@wkow.com, follow her on Twitter @PorterReports or send her a message on Facebook.
