Caroline Bach

Caroline joined the 27 News team in August 2014.  She is an executive producer, anchor and reporter.  You can catch her Wednesday through Sunday mornings on Wake Up Wisconsin.

A Cleveland, Ohio native, Caroline was excited to return to the Midwest.  During her time at WKOW she has covered numerous stories that received national coverage including the officer-involved shooting of Tony Robinson, the possible release of Brendan Dassey, the capture of fugitive Joseph Jakubowski, the downtown Sun Prairie explosion and the historic flooding in 2018.  She’s received numerous awards from the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association for reporting and producing.  Caroline was also instrumental in taking Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend from a local broadcast to a statewide broadcast in 2015.

Prior to Madison, Caroline was an anchor and reporter at WKOW’s sister station in Bluefield, West Virginia, WVVA. Also there, Caroline reported on many stories that received national coverage including Hurricane Sandy, the Freedom Industries chemical spill into the Elk River in Charleston and West Virginia’s inaugural Boy Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. WVVA also received an Associated Press Award for Caroline’s spot news coverage of a fugitive caught on the West Virginia Turnpike — a doctor and University of Pittsburgh researcher accused of poisoning his wife with cyanide.

Caroline went to college in the Cleveland area.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program at Baldwin Wallace University.  While still in school, she jump-started her career as a producer for Parma Area Community television, covering stories on local government, schools and sports. Caroline also had internships at WEWS in Cleveland, Ohio, at WTOL in Toledo, Ohio and for Dateline NBC in New York City.

Off the clock, you’ll find her exploring southern Wisconsin, from downtown Madison to the great outdoors. She’s an exercise junkie, cooking fiend, theatre nerd and Cleveland sports follower.
