MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — A Milwaukee man saved three girls from a burning home.
It happened about 5 a.m. Tuesday morning when he saw flames at a home at 24th Place and Melvina Street.
Family members say Fred Jackson busted in a front door and a window to get inside. Firefighters were on the roof at the time,
The three girls, ages, 9, 15 and 17, were asleep, and all of them got out safely.
A reporter asked Jackson what made him run into the burning home.
“It’s kids in the house. Family. I don’t know if it’s an old lady, old men. I don’t even know what’s going on. It’s just nature,” Jackson said.
Jackson’s hand is cut and swollen.
The grandfather of the girls says Jackson is a hero.
