UPDATE (WKOW) — Five people were injured overnight during what police describe as a large fight a Visions nightclub on E. Washington Avenue in Madison.
Police were called about 1:45 a.m. for a report of a large fight and shots fired. Upon arrival, a large crowd was found and there were five injured, according to a Madison Police department incident report.
Four of the victims were injured by gunfire and one individual was stabbed.
Of the individuals who were shot, one required surgery but is in stable condition.
The other gunshot victims did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
The victim who was stabbed was treated and medically cleared. All of the victims were treated at local hospitals.
At the time this incident occurred, there were an estimated 40 to 50 people present as patrons in the bar.
Police say the fight may have broken out over a re-entry issue where someone was originally kicked out of the bar.
MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police are investigating a shooting at Visions Nightclub on E Washington Ave.
According to a news release, police say they got a call around 1:45 a.m. about a fight at Visions. As they were headed there, they got another 911 call about shots fired inside.
Four people are hurt from the shooting according to police: a 42-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a 35-year-old woman. All are expected to be okay. They are being treated at the hospital. One person suffered a stab wound but was treated and is expected to be okay.
Police have not released any suspect information or what led up to the shooting. They do not think the public is in danger though.
At the time of the incident, police believe there were 40 to 50 people inside the bar. They think the fight started because someone was originally kicked out of the bar.
E Washington Ave. was closed at Stoughton Rd. early Sunday while there was a heavy police presence on scene, but the road has since opened.
