UPDATE: Man arrested in Madison weapons violation

UPDATE (WKOW) — Police arrested a man after a search warrant was executed in a neighborhood on the southwest side of Madison early Sunday morning.

Lt. Reginald Patterson told 27 News, charges are pending against Daniel Smith, 25.  He was arrested in connection to a weapons violation that police had been investigating on Frisch Road since Saturday night.

Smith was booked on a parole violation.  

Police are still interviewing people who may know more about the situation and Smith before they can release more information.

MADISON (WKOW) — Police have surrounded a home in Madison Saturday night.

Dane County Dispatch tells 27 News a call came in about a weapons violation at a home on Frisch Road, off Raymond Road on the southwest side of Madison.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

Madison police say officers are working to make contact with someone inside the home in the 2000 block of Frisch Road.

Police say when officers arrived, they spoke with two people outside the home and learned of an additional person inside who may have been armed.

SWAT officers responded and established a perimeter around the home.
