EAU CLAIRE (WKOW) — I-94 near Eau Claire is closed in both directions after a crash involving 40 vehicles Sunday afternoon.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol, it started around 3:15 p.m. on February 10. Seven semis and 33 cars were involved in the crash.

Snow is creating slippery conditions on the roads, making it difficult for crews to clean up and investigate the crashes.

Seven people are hurt, including one person with life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
