MADISON (WKOW) — Ahead of the rain, members of the city of Madison’s engineering department went out to make sure storm inlets were clear of snow and ice in hopes of preventing any flooding.

Crews say it can be difficult work with traffic, the cold and ice.

Madison has 20,000 inlets and city crews hope to get to 5,000 of them this weekend.

They’re asking neighbors to adopt an inlet and help keep it clear.
