MOUNTAIN, WI (WKOW) — Organizers of a Scout camp in the Northwoods are dealing with some damage after watching one of their buildings collapse under the snow.
Bear Paw Scout Camp posted on its Facebook page saying a 70-year-old building at the camp near Mountain collapsed this week. The building was put up in the late 1940s and served as a dining hall until the year 2000.
A group of Scout volunteers was out preparing for maple syrup season when they heard pops and cracking noises coming from the building. They grabbed cameras and a drone to take video as the building collapsed.
Camp leaders are not sure right now what they’ll do to replace the building that was most recently used as a program center.
