Wife of deputy killed in Rockford writes heartfelt letter

(WKOW) — Nearly a week after McHenry County Deputy Jacob Keltner was killed, his wife, Becki, wrote a letter about her husband.

In the letter, she talks about how much he loved his job and their life together. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office shared the letter on their Facebook page.

There is a visitation on Tuesday for Deputy Keltner at the Defiore Funeral Home in Huntley, Illinois. His funeral is Wednesday in Woodstock.

Deputy Sheriff Jacob Keltner died while he was working with a joint task force with the U.S. Marshals. He was working to a serve a warrant to a suspect. That suspect, identified as Floyd Brown, opened fire and shot Deputy Keltner.

Brown is charged with first degree murder. He’s entered a plea of not guilty.
