Madison police identify man pulled from Lake Mendota

MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Police Department has identified the man who was rescued from Lake Mendota early this morning.

His name is not being released yet, but he is not affiliated with the University of Wisconsin. He remains in the hospital.

Madison police sent out photos of the man officers and firefighters pulled from Lake Mendota early Friday morning.

The pictures show a man, likely in his 20s, and a close up of his red, black and grey Nike shoes.

He is 5’6″ and 130 pounds, according to police.

Someone called to report the person on the lake just after 6:00 a.m.

Medics tried to revive the person on the way to UW Hospital.
