UPDATE (WKOW) — Two family members and a family spokesperson confirm Noelani Robinson, the missing 2-year-old girl from Milwaukee, was found dead in Minnesota early Saturday morning, according to WISN 12 News.

In a Saturday morning news conference, Police Chief Alfonso Morales confirmed that a body believed to be Noelani Robinson was found wrapped in a blanket on the side of a road in rural Minnesota.

“This is our job, and the closure is not the closure we like to find,” Morales said. “It’s something that we have to come out and do.”

Investigators are currently calling it a death investigation, as they await autopsy results for formal identification.

Morales said the body was nowhere near the location provided by Higgins in interrogation.

They believe that the death did not occur in the last 24 hours.

Robinson’s father, Dariaz Higgins, who’s accused of killing her mother and abducting Robinson, was arrested in Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee.

An AMBER alert was issued Monday night to help find her.

Police said he’s only given them false information about her whereabouts.

“If you are a victim of the suspect’s lies, and you are in possession of Noelani, now is the time to turn her over,”  Morales said.

“If you release Noelani over now, and she is not harmed, you will likely not be prosecuted. However, if you continue to hold Noelani in your possession, we will eventually find you and her, and you will be prosecuted to the highest degree of the law,” he said.

Higgins also has connections to Miami and Las Vegas.

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading them to Robinson.
