GREEN BAY (WKOW) — Shopko announced Monday that it will close its remaining stores in a process beginning this week.
Affected stores include Shopko locations in Janesville and Monroe. Two stores in Madison and one in Monona are already slated to close.
In a press release, the company said it would begin ” an orderly wind-down of its retail operations beginning this week.”
Shopko told WQOW that all of its remaining stores would close.
Shopko’s optical business faces a less certain future as the company said it is “evaluating strategic options” for the Optical Center brand.
“This is not the outcome that we had hoped for when we started our restructuring efforts,” said Russ Steinhorst, Chief Executive Officer. “We want to thank all of our teammates for their hard work and dedication during their time at Shopko.”
