Three arrested for paintball battery on Madison’s east side

MADISON (WKOW) — Three men were arrested after a Culver’s parking lot and Dick’s Sporting Goods were shot up with paintballs on Madison’s east side Friday evening.

Monona Police pulled over Rodney A. Jordan, 28, of Middleton, Demetrius D. Staffney,18, of Edgerton and Carlton D. Jones, 28, of Chicago because their vehicle matched descriptions of witnesses and surveillance pictures, according to an incident report from the Madison Police Department.

The report said the three were arrested on charges of being party to the crimes of battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Additionally, Jones was charged with possession of cocaine.

” Two paintball guns, 500 blue paintballs, and few bindles of crack cocaine were recovered,” police said.

The trio allegedly fired 25 to 30 paintballs in the parking lot of the Culver’s at 4301 East Towne Blvd., police said. A 57-year-old man was hit in the chest and multiple rounds struck a car startling the couple inside.

Dick’s Sporting Goods in East Towne Mall had 15 paintballs strike the store’s front door, according to police.
