UPDATE: Sheriff identifies Monroe man who died in fiery crash

UPDATE (WKOW) — The man who died early Monday in a fiery crash in Green County has been identified as Kyle L. Gumtow, 30, of Monroe.


GREEN COUNTY (WKOW) — A 30-year-old Monroe man died early Monday morning after a crash Green County.

Around 1 a.m., Green County dispatch got a call about a single vehicle crash on CTH P. When EMS and fire arrived, they found a vehicle engulfed in flames and a man unresponsive inside.

The Monroe Fire Department put out the fire and the man was pronounced dead by the Green County coroner.

Investigators think the driver was headed east on CTH P when he hit a tree head on. It’s unknown if the driver was wearing his seat belt during the time of the crash. Investigators are still determining if speeding was a factor.

The identity of the man is being withheld until the family is notified.

This is Green County’s first traffic death in 2019.
