Madison police officer injured in struggle with suspect

MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison police officer who discovered a suspect hiding under a pile of clothes was injured following a struggle Friday afternoon.

Tquan D. Wiley, 20, Madison, was arrested for second degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct while armed, resist/obstruct causing substantial bodily harm/soft tissue injury, attempted battery to police officer, threats to injure law enforcement and on a probation hold.

An 18-year-old woman told police she was nearly stabbed inside a Hammersely Road home Friday afternoon as an acquaintance swung a knife at her.

Police found Wiley inside the residence hiding under a pile of clothes, according to a police department incident report.

He struggled with responding officers, and one was injured while getting Wiley into custody.

Wiley later told police the victim had stolen from him and that this created the dispute. He was arrested on a number of tentative charges.
