MADISON (WKOW) — People in Madison were ready to “dive deep” into the water we drink Saturday.
About a dozen people took a trip to a city well to learn more about how the water system works.
The bilingual tour was given by a city staff member who also discussed contaminants and threats to the water.
The trip was set up by the Catholic Multicultural Center who says it’s important for people to understand where their water comes from.
“We serve a lot of immigrants here, including some of the people participating in the event,” said Laura Green of the Catholic Multicultural Center. “Sometimes we don’t realize our water here is something not everyone in all parts of the state or all parts of the world have.”
The center says they try to have environmental events frequently and will be cleaning up Wingra Creek in June.
