GREEN BAY (WKOW) — Having clean drinking water is critical to your health and there’s a push to pass legislation to regulate dangerous chemicals found in some wells.
State lawmakers and the DNR were in Green Bay Thursday, talking about how PFAS contamination is a growing problem across the state. We’ve seen it in several wells in Madison.
In the town of Peshtigo, dozens have been forced to drink bottled water, after a firefighting foam manufacturer released the chemicals into the environment.
Under the bill, the DNR would be able to establish acceptable levels and standards for PFAS and develop ways to monitor and enforce those standards.
