MADISON (WKOW) — More than 6,000 tombstone replicas now line Olbrich Park in Madison to remember those who’ve died in conflicts overseas.
Veterans For Peace Chapter 25 set up the Memorial Mile Saturday, catching the eyes of several drivers going by.
“That happens all the time,” Larry Orr of Veterans For Peace said as a passing car honked their horn. “I hope that that person and every other person is thinking about the loss and the suffering and how unnecessary it is.”
The tombstones will be on display until next Saturday, June 1.
