(WKOW) — WKOW 27 News and TV stations around the country are sharing how they #BroadcastGood throughout the day today on social media.
The program is an initiative of the National Association of Broadcasters.
Today, we’ll highlight some of WKOW’s favorite public service projects, volunteer efforts and work in the greater southern Wisconsin Community.
Among our community efforts over the past year are our Flood Relief Telethon with the Red Cross where we raised more than $130,000 to help people recover from last fall’s devastating floods.
Not only do we report on severe weather incidents, we raise money to help people who have been impacted. After historic flooding in southern Wisconsin @WKOW and @RedCrossWIS were able to raise $130,000 for people in need. #broadcastgood pic.twitter.com/vogW8aTgz9

Our annual Toys for Tots collection with the Marine Corps Reserve helps get toys to hundreds of families who otherwise would not have them.
Each month, we honor a volunteer in our community with a Jefferson Award for their tireless efforts to help those around them. Read their stories HERE.
