MADISON (WKOW) — There are now fewer options for people who head to downtown Madison bars late at night.
The Madison Common Council approved changes to more than half a dozen liquor licenses for bars to restrict access after 1:30 a.m.
The rules were already in effect for seven downtown bars within a block of the UW-Madison campus saying no one could enter or reenter after 1:30 a.m. on Friday or Saturday nights.
The Alcohol License Review Committee wanted to place restrictions on seven more bars and Tuesday night the Common Council agreed.
The rules go into effect in July.
