Police ID man accused of burglarizing Mallard’s team store

MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police have released the name of the man arrested Friday who they say was caught stealing from the Madison Mallard’s team store.

Marquis L. Waskow, 30, Madison, faces charges of burglary, theft, possession of burglarious tools, damage to property and resisting/obstructing.

An employee for the Mallards organization who was watching a live video feed called Madison police about 11 p.m. after seeing the burglar in the team store.

Officers arrived and established a perimeter, ordering the man to give himself up. Instead the suspect took off running, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Police ordered Waskow to stop, however he kept running. So, police unleashed their K-9, Bowie, who chased him down and latched on to his arm.

Waskow was arrested and found to be carrying a metal pry bar and wearing a stolen Mallards jersey and sweatshirt, according to the incident report.

Two of the store’s doors had been damaged after being pried open.
