JOHNSON CREEK (WKOW) — A few dozen people came out to a fundraiser for a family who lost their home last month in a fire.

Friends say the Mundt family lost everything, including their dog named Socks, though they were all okay.

The family had lived in the mobile home for 19 years and didn’t have insurance, so friends put together a fundraiser in Johnson Creek on Saturday, to help them get back on their feet.

“Kind of put some things together within the last month or so to make sure that we could kind of assist in offsetting anything, or help the family get what they need, or find a new place and have enough money to be stable for a while,” said Melinda Schultz, a family friend.

There’s also an online fundraiser for the Mundt family, which has so far raised more than $5,000.
