(WKOW) — Are you dealing with sneezing or itchy eyes? You’re not alone.

Unfortunately relief is not in the immediate future.

The mild, sunny weather we’re expecting through the weekend is going to keep pollen counts high.  According to pollen.com, ragweed, nettle and chenopods are likely going to stay that way until rain is forecasted early next week.

Dr. Alice Hoyt with the Cleveland Clinic said the biggest difference between allergies and a cold is with allergies you’ll be itchy.  Symptoms include the following:

  • Itchy nose, throat, eyes
  • Sneezing
  • Nasal congestion
  • Watery eyes

Dr. Hoyt recommended the following for treatment:

  • Saline spray
  • Nasal steroid spray
  • Antihistamine
  • Allergy shots

If you’re not sure if you have allergies, Dr. Hoyt said it’s best to see your doctor for proper diagnosis.
