UPDATE: Police suspect bee attack led to death of man operating bulldozer

MILTON TOWNSHIP (WKOW) — Police say a bee attack may be behind the accident Sept. 8 where a man was run over by the bulldozer he was operating.

Brandon R. Clift, 30, from Edgerton died while doing excavating work in the 8000 block of North Bowers Lake Road. Clift operated his own excavating company, according to his obituary.

When Clift was found, he had many bees on him and multiple stings, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

It looks like he disturbed a nest of some sort and either jumped or fell off the bulldozer, which was still running and ran over him, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.

Authorities called it a “tragic accident.”

Clift leaves behind a wife and newborn daughter. A celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Apfelehlert Funeral Home in Edgerton. His obituary his HERE.
