Man fatally shot by brother while squirrel hunting in Dodge County, DNR says

DODGE COUNTY (WKOW) — A hunter was shot and killed by his brother while squirrel hunting Tuesday near Reeseville, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

The incident occurred today in Dodge County near Mud Lake on state property, according to a DNR spokesperson.

Two brothers were hunting squirrels. The shooter saw movement, shot and struck the victim, according to the DNR.

The brother who fired the shot is 61. The deceased is 65. The case is under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
