UPDATE: Edgerton home uninhabitable after fire, pets saved

UPDATE (WKOW) — An Edgerton family is unable to live in their home after a fire late Tuesday night, according to the Edgerton Fire Protection District.

Crews were called to the 1200 block of West Fulton Street just after 10 p.m.

Chief Randall Pickering said the flames were contained to the laundry room, but smoke filled the home quickly.

The family was able to get out on their own. Firefighters saved several pets that were still inside.

No injuries were reported.

The family is unable to live in the home because of smoke damage throughout.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

EDGERTON (WKOW) — Firefighters sought help from other agencies to fight a house fire in Edgerton.

The fire at a home in the 1200 block of W. Fulton Street was reported just before 10:15 p.m., according to the Rock County Communications Center.

Once firefighters and police officers got to the home, they activated a mutual aid box alarm system, which requested help from agencies outside the Edgerton area.

At least nine agencies responded to the fire.
