State patrol helps revive man suffering from possible heart attack

DEFOREST (WKOW) — The Wisconsin State Patrol revived a man who suffered a possible heart attack today while he was a passenger in a car on Interstate 39/90 near DeForest.

The state patrol responded to an emergency call from a woman who said that her husband was having a heart attack and that they were driving on the interstate in DeForest. She said that she was on her way to the DeForest Wisconsin State Patrol post.

A state patrol emergency dispatcher called for assistance and grabbed an AED machine to help the man, according to a news release.

When the couple arrived to the post, the man had no pulse and was not breathing. State patrol personnel applied the AED and performed CPR on the man.

DeForest EMS arrived and took over care of the man. His heart rate and breathing was reestablished and he was transferred to the hospital by DeForest EMS.
