Thorp baseball rallies late to beat Johnson Creek

Thorp scored two runs in the seventh inning to slip past Johnson Creek 6-5 in the WIAA Division 4 State Baseball Tournament.

Johnson Creek took the lead in the third inning with four runs. Zach Johnson had two hits and three RBI in the game. Anthony Purpi added two RBI. However, four errors came back to haunt Johnson Creek as they tried to hold on to the lead. Justin Swanson threw 5.2 innings. He allowed four unearned runs and struck out eight. Kaleb Hartwig picked up the loss in relief. He allowed two runs over 1.1 innings.

Johnson Creek finishes the season with a 17-9 record.
