Bairu named to UW Athletics Hall of Fame

Simon Bairu has run his way into the UW Athletics Hall of Fame. The athletic department announced Bairu as the newest addition to this year’s incoming Hall of Fame class. 

Bairu won the 2004 and 2005 NCAA Individual National Championships in cross country. He contributed to the Badgers’ team title in 2005. In his career, Bairu had a hand in 10 Big Ten team titles with the Badgers. 

Bairu is part of an 11-member Hall of Fame Class that will be inducted on Sept. 7
