Carriere-Williams was in a battle to start at cornerback this season. He played in all 14 games as a redshirt freshman and even started five contests. He served as Wisconsin’s primary nickelback. Carriere-Williams notched 30 tackles with one interception and seven pass breakups.
In the depth chart released early this week, the Miami native was listed as one of the top two backups at cornerback behind sophomore Caesar Williams and redshirt freshman Faion Hicks.
The Badgers open the season on Friday at 8 p.m. against Western Kentucky.
