MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — The Milwaukee Brewers officially introduced their newest acquisition Catcher Yasmani Grandal on Tuesday morning.
The former Dodgers catcher signed a 1-year, $16 million contract with the Brewers. According to multiple reports, his deal also includes a mutual option for $16 million in 2020.
Grandal joins a catching depth chart that includes Manny Pina and Erik Kratz. However, Grandal certainly is expected to get the majority of starts and plate appearances at catcher in 2019.
Grandal is a career .240 hitter. He hit 24 HR and added 68 RBI in 2018. The 30-year-old is from Havana, Cuba.
