No. 4 UW volleyball upset by No. 17 Marquette in home opener

Marquette volleyball had never toppled Wisconsin in program history.  That is, until Thursday night.

The No. 17 Golden Eagles rallied, down 2-0 in sets, to beat the No. 4 Badgers, 3-2.  Marquette won that fifth set in decisive fashion, 15-9, to snap the Badgers’ 20-match win streak.

This is the fourth Top 10 victory for Marquette volleyball in program history and second in a row.  Wisconsin now falls to 34-10-5 in home openers.  They had won the last three previous home openers, including a victory to open the 2018 season against No. 2 Texas.
