Alec Ausmus

Alec Ausmus joined the sports department at WKOW-TV in July of 2016 as a reporter. Prior to coming to Madison, Alec spent time on the shores of Lake Superior at WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minnesota and on the prairies of North Dakota at KFYR-TV in Bismarck.

A Minnesota native, Alec graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Communication – Broadcast Journalism in 2013.

Alec has covered everything from NFL playoff games, college football bowl games to sailboat racing regattas and everything in between. During his time covering sports, Alec’s work has received recognition from the Associated Press, Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
