GRAND CHUTE (WKOW) — Mineral Point took their undefeated season to the WIAA Division 4 state title game, but didn’t have enough firepower to overcome Webster at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute, near Appleton.
The Pointers fell 11-1, for their only loss in a stellar season.
Justin Baehler put Mineral Point on the board with a run in the first, but Webster scored 5 in the second and didn’t look back.

The Pointers headed into state undefeated at 26-0.
Pointers sophomore infielder Liam Stumpf said, “I think this year we had to come focused because we had a target on our back going to state last year. Coming back this year and winning so many games, I think the last couple of weeks we’ve had pressure with that target on our backs.”
Stumpf had the only other hit in the game for Mineral Point.
“We have the pressure on us because we are like the two seed coming in. We have the target on our backs,” said Mineral Point junior outfielder Grady Gorgen.
