Forward Madison’s Christian Díaz and Paulo Júnior have been named to USL League One’s All-League First and Second Teams, the league announced Wednesday. USL named Díaz to its First Team, while Paulo found a spot on the Second Team.
Díaz, 28, is one of Forward’s veteran leaders. He won the third-most duels among defenders in League One, taking 191 at a success rate of 64.5 percent. Díaz also finished second in the league in interceptions with 52 and also ranked in the top five among defenders in recoveries with 165 for the Flamingos.
Paulo, 30, has had long-term success in North American soccer. He had five goals and five assists on 44 chances created, while finishing tied for sixth in the league with 57 shots, of which 24 were on target.
The 2019 USL League One All-League Teams were voted on by club leadership.
