Verona boys soccer advances to state championship

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — The Verona boys soccer team has advanced to the WIAA state championship for the first time in school history. The Wildcats beat Kenosha Tremper 3-0 in the Division 1 semifinals.

Eliot Popkewitz, Gannon Simonett and Jack Knight scored goals for Verona. The Wildcats improve to 20-1-2 on the season.

Verona will face Neenah on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the state title.
